Venue >
Oldfield's On High is a 21-and-over live music venue. We present live music 7 nights a week and our hours are 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM Monday - Sunday.
Sound >
We provide house sound and engineers. We have mic stands, mics, and cables. If a band wants to have their own engineer mix for them they need to contact the owners of the sound company for approval. Jay and Jeff Farmer may be reached at: (614) 431-9355. This must be done at least one week prior to the show.
Load-in any time after 6:00 pm.
Sound-check at 9:00 pm.
Sound fees: Wednesday - $75; Thursday - $100; Friday & Saturday - $125
Performance Times >
All bands must be playing by 10:00 pm. If you are the headliner band you must play last. Bands must have enough material to play until 2:05 am. Must have final approval for any lineup. We prefer three sets to be played between those hours: 10:00-11pm, 11:15-12:20am, 12:30-2:15am. Please do not leave empty cases or other equipment lying around or beside the stage. Take all such items to the back of the house. Ask bartender for clarification.
Money >
Bands receive 100% of door receipts. Door money split equally among bands if there are more than one. The fee for sound is automatically deducted from door receipts. We suggest that your band charges no more than $3 on weekdays and no more than $5 on weekends. Guest lists are fine (remember the venue is 21 and over!). Also, consider that a large guest list can affect the outcome of door receipts.
Fliers and Advertising >
Oldfield's on High runs an ad in Columbus Alive on a weekly basis. In addition, we fax the band schedule 1 month in advance to club listings in The Other Paper, The Dispatch, Columbus Alive, and The Lantern. If changes occur after this schedule has been faxed, it is the band's responsibility to contact club listings and set the record straight. This service is free; use it wisely! You may also wish to send promo packets to the following people:
Oldfield's does not want fliers posted on telephone poles, etc. All we ask is that you post 10 fliers in the bar at least 2 weeks before show time.
Extra Information >
Band members enjoy the privilege of drink discounts. See bartender for details.
Bands may not leave equipment in the bar overnight. Please load-out by 2:30 am.
Please understand that we are not a huge club. Stage volume is always an issue. If you are asked to turn down it is only because patrons are complaining.
If you have any questions or comments, please email me. Have a great time!
Thanks,
Beth Bice
